You’re Pulling My Leg! Junior Wins Toy of the Year Award
Prestigious honor based on game’s excellence
SANTA MONICA, CALIFORNIA — The junior version of the multi-award
winning bluffing game “You’re Pulling My Leg!” has won the prestigious
“Toy of the Year Award” from Creative Child Magazine, a national
publication that focuses on providing parents with the latest
information on how to nurture creativity in their children. The
game was chosen as the winner out of 1,000 entries. “I’m thrilled
and excited” says the game’s creator Allen Wolf. “I created this
version for kids to be able to play with their parents and friends and
I’m grateful that it has been so well received.”
A panel of judges, including child psychologists and child educators,
monitored a pre-selected group of kids while they played “You’re
Pulling My Leg! Junior” and all the other entries in the games
category. The panel then rated the games on four major factors:
educational value, creative nurturing, creative play and overall value
with respect to retail price. After being given a score value,
“You’re Pulling My Leg! Junior” was determined as a finalist for the
Toy of the Year Award. After further deliberation and judging
against the other game finalists, the panel declared “You’re Pulling My
Leg! Junior” to be the ”Toy of the Year.”
Wolf originally created “You’re Pulling My Leg!” for two good
friends to help them get to know each other. After the success of
the original version, Wolf created 614 new questions for the junior
version that could be answered by younger players. In the game,
players try to fool each other with wacky stories about their lives.
When a card is drawn and a question is asked, the secret roll of the
die tells the players if their answers should be true or made
up. When they hear a story, players bet tokens on whether
they think the storyteller is telling the truth or pulling their leg.
Players win tokens if they’re right but lose them if you're wrong. The
first player to 21 points wins.
Games can be purchased at local toy and game stores or on the web at
