Morning Star Games Launches Nationwide Slap Wacky! Contest

Participants Can ‘Slap to Win’ an iPod at their Nearest Participating Toy Store

(Santa Monica, CA) – May 22, 2007 – Morning Star Games has launched its first nationwide contest focusing on their new, award-winning Slap Wacky! game. Titled “Slap to Win an iPod!” participants can enter to win an iPod Nano after playing a game of Slap Wacky! at their nearest toy or game store.

“We believed the best way for our newest game to stand out from the others is for people to have the chance to play Slap Wacky!” says the game’s creator and president of Morning Star Games, Allen Wolf. “It’s usually a challenge to demonstrate an entire game at a store but not so with Slap Wacky!. The entire game takes about two minutes to play.”

In this fast-paced game, players compete to connect shape patterns with their cards. The player who completes a pattern slaps it and takes the cards for the points. Six different shape patterns can be created at a time and players use block cards to slow up others from completing shapes. When the cards have run out, players count their cards using a point system and the player with the highest points wins. At the recent Mensa Mind Games competition, judges noted that Slap Wacky is “a fun game that evokes speed and challenge and is enjoyable for numerous rounds of play. The bright colors and unique patterns are engaging.”

Slap Wacky! has won multiple awards including the iParenting Media Award, Seal of Excellence from Creative Child, the Adding Wisdom Award and The National Parenting Center Seal of Approval. An iParenting Media Awards Reviewer calls Slap Wacky! “fun and wacky. It encourages group play and family interaction which is a lot of fun and very important in this day and age. This game allowed our children and us to interact with one another and we had a very enjoyable time together playing it.”

Wolf got the idea for Slap Wacky! while preparing for his annual game night. “I created the test version of the cards to play it with my good friends. It was immediately a hit. You can play a game in under 5 minutes so we found ourselves playing it over and over to see who would win.”
